July 7, 2018 - Bernheisel Scores Fifth Win of the Season at Selinsgrove
1Bryan Bernheisel soared to his fifth feature win of the year on Tuesday night during the annual Selinsgrove Ford Firecracker 30 at Selinsgrove Speedway. The win came aboard his Dieffenbach’s Kettle Chips #119 Russ Gibble Roofing & Siding/ Lazer Chassis Super Late Model.

“We hit the ground running on Tuesday night with a heat race win, and then were able to take advantage of (Jeff) Rine’s bad luck late in the race to get the feature win,” Bernheisel said. “It was a real good night for us, and now we look forward to heading to Williams Grove Speedway this Friday for the Mason Dixon Shootout. Not only is that one of my favorite tracks, but the event features Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips Night. Those guys are an awesome supporter of not only my program, but the racing world in general. I’m really looking forward to it.”

A rare Tuesday night event was held at the historic Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania) as the Selinsgrove Ford Firecracker 30 took center stage. Bryan started the night by winning his heat race to earn the pole position for the feature, where he was joined on the front row by Jeff Rine.

Rine jumped to the lead at the drop of the green flag and held the top spot over Bernheisel, until lap 24 when Rine slowed with a flat tire. Bernheisel inherited the lead and held off Dylan Yoder in the closing laps to claim the $3,000 victory.

Gene Knaub, Brett Schadel and Shaun Jones completed the Top-5 finishers.

1On Friday night Bernheisel returned to action at Williams Grove Speedway (Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania) competing in the 358 Steel Head Late Model ranks. In a field of 24 cars, Bryan jumped up one spot in his heat to pick up the win. Receiving the 7th-starting position for the A-Main after the redraw, Bryan Bernheisel salvaged an 8th place finish after dropping back early while trying to make high-side a factor.

1The following night at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pennsylvania) for the Route 35 Challenge Series sanctioned contest, Bryan passed two cars in his heat race to place 5th. Earning the 12th-starting position for the A-Main based off passing points, Bernheisel had worked his way into the Top-5 until a broken fuel pump drive on lap-20 ended his night immediately.
