10th-place finish for Bryan in AMS stop at Lincoln Speedway
For the fourth round of the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek, Bryan Bernheisel unloaded his Dieffenbach’s Kettle Chips No. 119 Late Model at Path Valley Speedway (Spring Run, Pa.) on Tuesday afternoon to chase a $4,000 top prize.
After racing his way into the main event with a runner-up showing in his heat race, a rain shower before the start of the feature washed out the 35-lapper.
In a field of 38 Late Models on Thursday at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.), Bernheisel followed up the fourth-fastest lap in his group with an eight-lap heat race victory. Losing four spots in the 35-lap feature, Bryan notched an 11th-place finish.
With Friday’s $6,092-to-win Appalachian Mountain Speedweek event at Bedford rained out, Bryan backed up a strong showing in his heat at Lincoln Speedway (Lincoln, Pa.) on Saturday with a top-10 run in the feature. Rolling off 12th, Bernheisel inched forward two positions to place 10th.
The Appalachian Mountain Speedweek concluded on Sunday at Selinsgrove Speedway (Selingrove, Pa.) with Bernheisel qualifying for the Paul Long Memorial A-Main via a second-place finish in his heat. With $6,300 on the line, Bryan took the green in 13th and was up to eighth but lost a driveshaft on lap 15 that brought a disappointing end to his weekend.
