Seventh-place finish in Appalachian Mountain Speedweek opener

The 2024 Appalachian Mountain Speedweek kicked off on Friday with Bryan Bernheisel joining a stacked field of 39 Super Late Model competitors at Clinton County Motor Speedway (Mill Hall, Pa.) for the first round of the nine-race miniseries.

With a qualifier victory positioning him on the fifth row for the opener, Bernheisel climbed three spots in the 35-lap affair to register a seventh-place finish.

After racing into Saturday’s AMS main event at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) with a B-Main win, Bryan crossed the line in 21st when the checkers flew in the 50-lapper.

A visit to Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.) on Sunday resulted in a 19th-place finish for Bernheisel in the $5,000-to-win weekend finale.
